My love of coffee came at a very young age, having been raised on my father's coffee plantation in one of the finest coffee regions of Costa Rica. Some of my earliest memories are the sights, sounds and smells of the plantation. At my father's side, I learned the trade of growing and cultivating the finest coffee – the skills and artistry that go into producing fine quality beans with truly exceptional body, taste and aroma. But I aspired to go even further than my father – I wanted to create new tastes and new sensations. I knew that with my vast knowledge of coffee, my love of flavor and talent for chemistry, I could create a line of flavored coffees unlike any other in existence.

In 1980, I began to realize my dream, and built on my experience by seeking out the best flavorists, tasters and blenders in the business. Together we spent long hours roasting, blending and flavoring - and especially tasting – batch after batch of different bean, roast and flavor combinations. Our goal? To create the most natural, smooth and satisfying taste experience imaginable.

Today, you can taste the results of our hard work, dedication and superb craftsmanship. We have a passion for what we do, and who we are!
